"The airport doesn't seem like the type of place you might typically go to relax -- but Ann Hill is hoping to change that."
"Other than a shoe-shine stand, the businesses at the airport have historically been retail shops or restaurants."
"People kept on asking if there were any other services around the airport."
"Over the past year, Hill has turned what was "a big shell" at the corner of the walkway leading to Concourse A into a full-fledged spa, including a room for deep-tissue massages and miniature whirlpool baths for foot massages."
"Even with the spa's captive audience, Hill knows it won't be easy to build up a clientele. But her massage service grew from a few chairs near the entrance of the terminal to a business that operates 11 hours a day, 365 days a year throughout the building."
"I have people coming in who live nearby, who aren't even flying," she said, referring to the massage chairs located outside the security area. "It's a hassle traveling, especially if you do it frequently. We try to make it a bit calmer."
